Thanks to Ford for our amazing mountain getaway car. Loved how comfy it was for all of us including all of our luggage! Also, yes to huge sun roofs for summer.
Whistler! Is the most epic destination for snow, outdoor adventure and catching a tan while picnic’ing by a lake. Every time I escape into this mountain village that is only about 2 hours away fromVancouver I feel the mountain adventure girl come out in me. I was raised in the alps so there is definetly something about being nestled between trees, lakes and mountain tops that makes me feel like, home. My main girls, Cara of A Fashion Love Affair and Allison Kuhl our dear friend and amazing photographer and I headed up the mountain last weekend and we tackled an epic spring snow experience. Complete with a day on the slopes snowboarding in tshirts under the spring sunshine. Thanks to Go Whistler our weekend was jam packed with adventure beyond just snowboarding. Thats right, we went zip lineing on the longest, and highest zip line in Canada with Superfly Zipline. Maybe you would not take us for being total adrenaline seekers haha turns out we are! The zip was so much fun I would totally recommend it, as long as you factor in about 3 hours for the adventure. Who else has been zip lining before? To rest our little heads we stayed at the Westin Resort and Spa Whistler, there literally is not a better location if you are seeking a place to stay in the village. It is up against the side of the mountain and the doors basically boarder right on the main village square called the Skiers Plaza. We stayed in one of their suites which could host a good crew of people if you are looking to accommodate a more people at once. We had the perfect girls getaway! It was full of fun, talks, yes about boys cause how could we not but also adventure, which this summer is all about. Of course we could not leave without visiting the ever so rejuvenating Scandinave Spa. Where the sheer site of the baths and the steam make me more relaxed. It is a must, so to sum up some things to do while escaping the the mountains see below for a short list.
7 things to do in Whistler on a Spring weekend getaway.
1. Stop at Brandywine Falls on the way up.
2. Zipline adventure with Superfly, The Adventure Group
3. Visit the Scandinave Spa Whistler in the morning when it opens or right before it closes
4. Go snowboarding! If the mountain is still open which it is now head up there and play in the snow. No gear no problem, rent it at the bottom of the mountain at the Salomon Store
