Welcome to Tall Tree Music Festival, unplugged, on the mountain side on Vancouver Island with sweet tunes and an epic vibe.
We caught it all on film, watch the video here. Thanks for the soundtrack and our favorite live show of the weekend, Jon And Roy.

Welcome to the festival that you don’t already know about. Why? Because it’s in the middle of nowhere and there is no reception so there is no way to over share! Tall Tree changed my mind set on being unplugged at a festival. There was a moment when I was wondering why I was feeling so relaxed! Until this thought: “I think it’s because there is no reception”. Solid realization! So since there were no Instagram stories, here is the video! Capturing the raw moments and everything in between! Including our favorite band Jon & Roy. For the full experience make sure to hit PLAY on that video, to catch the vibe the scene and my outfits in motion.
Enough of the unplugged soul searching, even though it did shape my festival experience. The rest of the reasons why I loved it so much, was all the things we love about music festivals: dancing under the sky and stars, surrounded by happy people and good tunes and feeling the summer vibes run through my veins. Honestly some of the most freeing moments this summer so far are from that weekend.
Let’s talk fashion – this festival was an easy dress code! A dress, shorts and a few tees along with a one piece that made me prepared for a lake day were my go-to’s from my small carry on I was allowed to bring. Sanuk was my shoe of choice for the festival, comfortable and cute. The Donna Crochet closed toe “Sidewalk Surfer” was the perfect shoe for the road trip adventure to the island and up the coast. They were also the ideal solution for easy on and off wear while climbing out of the tent and of course for our lake adventure and dancing on the logs at sunset too. They’re super lightweight and soft when you’re on your feet dancing and walking around all day. The super cute crochet material makes them even better! The Yoga Sling sandal was one of my favorites as well. Sanuk has a ton of different colored and printed strap options on these sandals so there are endless ways to style them with your favorite festival outfits.
The festival was like a tent town on the side of a mountain. There were tents in every corner and a sense of community across the board amongst the Tall Trees plus a view of the ocean! We were lucky enough to have connected with a festival camping service called Fest Hut which supplies festival goers with a tent that is set up in the best locations on the camp ground and all ready to move in! Easy peasy!
I live for music festivals and Tall Tree was a one-of-a-kind experience. So excited to have been able to bring along Sanuk for the adventure. Stay tuned for more ways to style the Yoga Sling sandal.
