If you have ever sat there and nodded your head as your piers where discussing something they heard on a podcast they listened to that really made them think about the bigger questions, what is life, why are we here and OMG did you hear who Oprah interviewed this week. Then you are me, most of the time. Of course circling back to knowledge is power I started writing down in my notes all the podcasts I heard about and gave them a try myself.
There is so much content out there and I always felt overwhelmed by it all and wanted someone I knew and trusted to just tell me what to listen to. So he is the list I wish I had, the list I built by listening and reading and also picking my friends brains.
Drumroll, a year ago I didnt even know how to listen or subscribe to a podcast! Newsflash, there is a podcast app already on your phone that is home to pretty much every cast under the sun. So start there and all this knowledge and sharing is free! Then, search for the below or click the links!
I started listening to this podcast when a friend told me about one episode called, The True Hard Work of Love. If you are nursing a broken heart, if you are struggling with love and or anything that dives into matters of the heart this episode is so enlightening and puts a different spin on the norm. She has also interviewed Brene Brown and an incredible interview with Br. David Steindl-Rast on the Anatomy of Gratitude.
Well, because Oprah! One of my favorites talks on this series is when she chatted with Elizabeth Gilbert the Author of Eat Pray Love. It was so inspiring I found myself crying more then once and then on the couch watching Eat, Pray, Love through different eyes.
Well this one, I have listened to almost on binge repeat! Ive been following Allie on instagram for so long, we met a long time ago in LA and I remember thinking then, this girl is magic. Her and her roomie discuss the cosmos the thoughts of spiritually connected beings and everything surrounding our life in our human suite. Two favorite episodes, the latest featuring Bree Melanson (who is also a friend of mine) and the episode where they interview Emma Mildon, author of the Soul Searchers Handbook!
Thank you Lewis Howes for introducing me to new ways of life, new authors, new artists, success stories, real stories, inspirational stories and ones that have moved me to tears. I take endless notes when listening to this podcast. I have bought books by the authors that have shared their stories, one being Gabby Bernstein’s, The Universe has your back and Judgment detox. Also Rachel Platten’s interview was beyond inspiring, if you feel like you are struggling with pushing through on your dreams that one will give you a little boost in confidence.
OK so this very first podcasts guest is Oprah! Where do you even go from here. If you want to sit and listen to the most moving conversation between two incredible woman, Gwyneth and Oprah this is the holy grail. They discuss our culture and call it the “generation of enough”. Just when you think what else could Oprah have to share with the world she drops wisdom nuggets that made me cry laugh on my bathroom floor while doing my hair. This is the newest addition to my must listen list. There is only one episode but I know they will all be worthy of your download in the near future.
